What is SLS 3D printing?
Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) is an industrial 3D printing process that produces highly accurate and durable parts from nylon powder. A high-power laser fuses small particles of polymer powder into a solid structure based on a 3D model.
SLS is the preferred choice for engineers and designers because it allows for high design freedom, high accuracy, and parts with consistent mechanical properties. Since the parts are surrounded by unsintered powder during printing, no support structures are needed, making it ideal for complex geometries.
Benefits of SLS
- No support structures needed
- Highly durable functional parts
- Complex internal geometries
- Efficient for batch production
Capabilities
- Accuracy: ± 0.3% (min ± 0.3mm)
- Layer Height: 100 - 120 microns
- Surface finish: Granular/Matte
- Isotropic mechanical properties
